It’s been about two months now into the school year and the students and faculty have settled in just fine. This is the time of the year when families come together as one and make many memories together. This year,to start off the celebration, AITE will be having a spirit day on November, 23rd, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Traditionally, the school only has one spirit week taking place prior to the annual March Madness basketball game between the students and staff. This spirit week will lead to the AITE faculty vs. students soccer game. But why wait until March for an event that can take place this week.
Every year spirit week has been a huge success. Many people participate in it and enjoy the festivities. Having two spirit weeks will raise even more school spirit than in previous years. The colors that are chosen by each class will apply for both spirit weeks. The colors being represented are blue and black for the freshman class, purple and white for the sophomore class, red and orange for the junior class, and lastly black and gold for the senior class.
Why wait until the weekend before spirit day to purchase a tee shirt, when you can buy one from your class to help support them? Last week, the sophomore class sold purple t-shirts with white lettering. They were sold sold for $15 and the orders will be in Tuesday afternoon and will be distributed Wednesday morning. You may contact Chandu Goli, Anahi Coyt, Akshat Mirsa, Bridgit Collier, Selena Delgado or myself, Marilyn Santos, for further information regarding the sale. Not only was the sophomore class selling shirts, but the junior class sold tee shirts as well. If there are any questions regarding their sale contact Alex Rainone, Nicole Curry, Sheryl Choi, or Dominik Lapinski.
Ms. Rivera stated she likes the fact that “spirit weeks gives students the opportunity to demonstrate school pride and it’s done in a fun way, it allows them to express themselves in a way that demonstrates school pride.” Now get ready for spirit day. Pass the word along to your friends to begin getting everyone excited. Be sure to wear your class colors to spread school spirit and support your class. It’s going to be a great way to start off the holidays.
Remember to have a happy, safe Thanksgiving, spend as much time as you can with your family or the ones you love.
LETS RAISE SCHOOL SPIRIT!
